Court Reporter 360 Website Design

In this section, we answer the most often asked questions about designing your Court Reporter website. Click on the subject line below to see the corresponding answer. When you are done, click the subject line again and it will collapse. This is known as an Accordion widget and is good for use on web pages that have a lot of information on them.

If you are a Court Reporter Agency or a State Court Reporters Association, we will need to have an in-depth discussion. Please schedule a free consultation so we may understand your needs and goals and together come up with the best way forward.

While an imperfect analogy we hope this will help.... Do you want your website to be like a house (Flex package) or like an apartment (Standard package)?

In an apartment, you let the apartment owner do all of the maintenance for you. If the grass outside is getting a little tall, they take care of having it mowed. In a house, you are responsible for all of the maintenance. If the grass outside is getting a little tall, it is up to you to either mow it yourself or pay someone to take care of it for you. Both an apartment and a house serve a housing need; they just have different levels of involvement on your part.

To learn more, please visit the Standard and Flex pages for more specific information. We believe the information on these pages will help you choose the right package.

You probably already have 90% of what you need to get started. We have created a simple and concise Profile Form for you to fill out before you sign up. This includes information like your name, company name, and contact information.

In addition, you will want to tell us about:

  • Certifications you have (and other court reporters who work with you.
  • Court reporting services that you offer.
  • A brief write-up about you. How long you've been in business. Special services you may offer to your customers. Why people like doing business with you. What you do in your free time.
  • Have you registered a website name yet? If so, you will need to let us know what it is. If not, we can help you get one.
  • Do you have a logo? You should provide that, if you do.
  • Do you want to have an email address associated with your domain name (i.e., chris@prontoreporting.com)? If so we need to know what that is.
  • Do you have testimonials from clients? If not, try really hard to get these. If so, get them ready before you sign up.
  • Pictures. Provide up to 10 pictures. We recommend a "headshot" of you at a minimum. Other ideas include the courthouse where you do a lot of your work, pictures of well known landmarks in your area, your office building (if you have one), etc.

Once you complete the form, you will simply upload it - along with any attachments, such as logo, artwork, pictures, etc. - when you sign up. We will take it from there!

Add-on Services: Any additional services added after the "go live" must be paid in full at the completion of the work. For example, you started off with one email account and you decide to add another. Just request the additional email address and then pay for it as soon as we set it up for you.

Absolutely. We have many clients who have contracts with third-party services and they need to integrate these with their website. One of the most common is an online Repository service so that Reporters or Attorneys may log in to send or receive documents. Or an Association may need a Mailchimp integration for members or interested parties to sign up for an electronic newsletter. We will work with you, or your designee, to facilitate this integration with your website.

Yes. To change from a Standard Plan to a Flex Plan requires about 1 day. The cost difference is only the prorated difference between the two plans. Because Agency plans use a different Content Management System, to move from a Standard or Flex Plan to an Agency Plan would require extensive work (and cost) in addition to the hosting fee differences.

Once you sign up, we try to have new Standard sites up and running within 3 business days; Flex sites within 5 business days; Agency sites within 10 business days; and Association sites within 15 business days (these often take longer because committees are often involved and it takes time for feedback from everyone). These are targets and not firm promises because there are other factors which come into play (do you own your website name already; did you provide us with your logo; etc.?).

Because of current demand, it is taking us about 1 day longer for Standard and Flex websites. The sooner you sign up the sooner we can get you going!

Court Reporter 360 Website Hosting

In this section, we answer the most often asked questions about designing your Court Reporter website. Accordion widgets are helpful on long web pages because a mobile user doesn't have to scroll as much.

AGENCY or ASSOCIATION

Our Limited Time Offer includes the first year of webhosting at no additional charge.

No. There are several reasons for this:

  • Depending on the website, we may be using proprietary software that we have developed. In order to protect our intellectual property we will not install it on another server we cannot control.
  • We cannot control the efficiency of another host's installation. There is one webhost in particular, well known to everyone, who has horrible speed performance. Yes, websites hosted there cost $30 a year - but they run up to 11 times more slowly than those in our server (we know, we've timed them). We would be doing a huge disservice to our court reporter client if we allowed that. We will not do that.
  • We cannot control the tech support resources of a third-party provider. Some providers, in order to keep costs low, have email only support, or limited support Monday to Friday. Our webhosting provider - LiquidWeb - gives us 24/7 chat and telephone support. If we run into email or website problems for our clients then we must know that we can get answers, fast.
  • There are other reasons but those are enough as far as we are concerned. If you require that your website be hosted in your own space then we wish you the very best.

    wordpress websites for court reporters

Absolutely. We love WordPress! It is estimated that 36% of websites are built on WordPress. Our Standard and Flex plans are powered by a proprietary CMS (Content Management System) that is easy to use by anyone. Because there is a lot more involved with WordPress we only use it for our Agency and Association Accounts. If this is what you are thinking be sure to mention it when we talk.

If you believe your website is down, go to downforeveryoneorjustme.com and check to see if your website is actually down for everyone, or just you. If it is down for everyone - or if your email is not working - then please contact us so we can investigate.

    Court Reporter 360 Additional Services

In this section, we answer the most often asked questions about optional services.

All of our email accounts are professionally hosted by Rackspace, and includes the emailname@your-domain that you want. We offer two different email account types:

Accessible using your web browser or email client software such as Outlook, with 25 GB of mailbox storage per account. Standard, Agency and Association users get one of these email accounts as part of their plan. [Cost: $36.00, per user, per year]

Exchange email, instant messaging, SharePoint and online versions of Office. [Cost: $96.00, per user, per year]

Email account holders can also get "alias" accounts. There is no storage to these accounts, they simply forward to another account. For example, you may have an Office@yourdomain.com email address that you want forwarded to two people. You may also have an Info@yourdomain.com email account that you want forwarded only to you. There is no cost for these alias/forwarding email accounts. You must have at least one Rackspace or Office 365 email account, however, in order for these free alias addresses to work.

API Integration: Most third-party providers you have contracted with offer what is called an API (Application Programming Interface). This allows interactions between multiple softwares. Buying something on Amazon, and then checking out with your credit card, is an example of a Payment API action. Amazon took your payment information; sent it to their bank; got the OK; and released the order. An API need is kind of rare in the Court Reporting field but if you have something cool and challenging we want to talk and see how we could help you out. We love cool projects!

Virtual Meetings: Of course, Zoom has become the standard during the Covid-19 pandemic. We can help you with this but we also have other virtual meeting partners that we work with and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you to help you determine if Zoom is the right tool for you to use, or if you are using it to your full potential.

Wordpress: In addition to the themes, pages, and posts we develop, we can also provide custom WordPress plug-in programming.
